The inaugural IAAF World Relays opened to grand performance with a pair of world records while former Texas A&M sprinter Jeneba Tarmoh was a member of the winning United States women's 4x100 relay squad.

The initial installment of the IAAF World Relays being staged this Saturday and Sunday will include eight former Aggie sprinters among the relay pools representing five nations at a sold out Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

Texas A&M's tandem of junior Olivia Ekpon and sophomore Shelbi Vaughan were named to The Bowerman women's watch list this week following record breaking performances at the SEC Championships.

Texas A&M is the only school with a pair of athletes currently on The Bowerman men's watch list. Aggie junior Deon Lendore and senior Wayne Davis II are among 10 athletes listed on the updated watch list following the conference weekend.

Following the impressive performance by Texas A&M junior Olivia Ekpon during the SEC Championships, which included sweeping the 100 and 200 meter titles and anchoring the winning 4x400 relay, she was named co-National Athlete of the Week.

The Texas A&M men claimed the 2014 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Sunday afternoon in Lexington.

Isaac Spencer supplied the Aggies with a runner-up performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Texas A&M qualified 13 athletes in five events for finals in the SEC Championships during Saturday's session at the Kentucky Track & Field Complex.

Texas A&M totaled 21 points over four events at the SEC Championships on Friday with 13 scored by the men's team and eight by the women. In addition, qualifying for finals produced 11 Aggies advancing in five of six prelim events contested.
