Lamara Distin, a senior at Texas A&M representing Jamaica, produced the collegiate record in the women's high jump with a third-attempt clearance at 6-6.75 (2.00m) at the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships at Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Distin surpassed the indoor all-time mark of 6-6 (1.98m) shared by Kansas State's Akela Jones and Texas' Destinee Hooker, along with the outdoor best of 6-6.25 (1.99m) established by Arizona's Brigetta Barrett in 2013. Distin set the Jamaican national record and became the 48th female athlete in global history to clear the 2-meter mark indoors. More videos |
